#5 on this search.

Maybe I should just quit.

So I was in a meeting yesterday at work and we were talking about how you could find certain information in published material from the BLM... fuck! I'm sitting there for like ten minutes thinking, "Shit, I know what that is, why can't I fucking remember." Thanks, ass.

Ok, also over at the Shoot I saw this. Unless he's a part of this show, Larry David should sue.

So I don't really pay that much attention to the entertainment industry. In the recent past my apathy has overcome my curiosity for the most part. Still, I do read Movie Poop Shoot quite frequently. They report on movies that are in the process of being made, toys and they have comics that are fairly funny (when they're not taking extreme long hiatuses... or would it be hiati).

Anyway, for the most part, I could give a shit less about the goings on in the world of TV. I haven't had cable for over a year now and it's really nice not always having some incipit crap on in the background a good deal of the time. Sure, I miss things like Real Time with Bill Maher and Curb Your Enthusiasm and it sucks watching football through the static, but I have very little desire to change this portion of my station in life.

Why am I talking about this, because I was reading the TV Recommendations over there and I noticed the 4th show down on Friday... you see that? Jag is still on!? Didn't they have a series finally two years ago (after being tossed from network to network like a cheap Bangkok whore). Look population of America: Catherine Bell is hot, I agree and understand. But enough is enough, just because they shovel this crap in your face doesn't mean you have to eat it. Spit it up... Jag tastes like yak piss.

Alright, this had me laughing so hard that there are little spittle marks all over my computer screen now. I'm going to clean that up now... there. I mean, it's a really easy joke, but effective nonetheless. The album cover is priceless though, don't you think? That's what set me off anyway.

As for something entirely not derivative, Saul Williams' new album came out today and it's definitely not radio-friendly. I was going to do a review, but he has the entire album up for listen up on his site. So if you want to hear something different go over there.

My Opinion: Being the poet that he is, the lyrical content of this disc is fucking awesome as expected. Act III Scene 2 (Shakespere) is probably my favorite so far (lyrically)... because I'm a total "showboatin' lib."

As for the musical quality of the album, some tracks are definite stand-outs. The opening track Talk to Strangers is neat as it was produced by that guy from "System of a Down" but it doesn't suck. Black Stacy has my vote for catchiest track, but I have to admit I haven't listened to the last four tracks in depth yet.

For me, this harkens back to when I picked up 13 by "Blur" most of the way through it I was like, "Wow, I really shouldn't like this. A lot of this sounds like crap... Damn this album is great!" I still love 13 to this day so there you go. A lot of interesting choices. A lot on this album as well.

Another thing that went through my head while listening was, "I get the feeling Saul's been listening to a lot of dälek." dälek has some of the sickest production work ever so if you take a listen there, be prepared. My wife couldn't really get into dälek (or a lot of the crazy dissonant things I bring home), but she loves Saul so I'm interested in what she'll think listening to this tonight.

Anyway, that's my pseudo-review. Check out the album if you have the inclination. If you don't, go to the site and read the poem at the top ("when the clock strikes me...") because that is fucking amazing.

Ahhh... to be the voice of Ben Katz.
