Sounds like a sound plan to me. I don't see any way the species as a whole will survive unless most of us are killed. Not that I'm volunteering, just pointing out observations, as I assume he was as well. Being a scientist, I'm guessing that... well, that he's just being a scientist. I'd actually really like to read a review of his speech from someone with a less negative gut reaction to what he's said. (I'm too lazy to find one though.)
